to Standards management. E-GEN / NORMS not only optimizes the time spent
to verify the compliance of your Files and Datasets with the Standard
defined in your Data Center. But is also helps to automatically create a
comprehensive list highlighting the naming conventions standards found on
one site.
E-GEN / Norms not only analyzes and highlights all Files & Datasets
that don't match your Standards. It also isolates exceptions, incorrect
naming convention and computes an evolution trend for all naming
convention discrepancies.
Furthermore Free text description can be associated with each naming
convention rule. Thus making the rules understandable for anyone
within your organization.
E-GEN / Norms is easily be implemented using
one of the following methods:
You currently use
Standards rules. But you need to analyze the compliance of your Files
& Datasets with these rules.
You don’t have specific
Standards rules. But you want to identify
some Standards rules and trends.
Each of the above methods provides a detailed statistics report containing
valid and invalid names, the rules used and their associated values. The
portion of the file names not matching a defined or pre-defined sequence
of rules is stored separately. A compression process produces a naming
convention trend that contains a summary of exceptions. This trend will
assist you in defining standardization rules when not yet defined.
Once the standards are identified, an HTML document summarizing this
information is available for publishing on your intranet. Standards are
not fixed forever. Therefore you can either update your rules or audit
your current files to document any changes and insolate
discrepancies.

Layout: Describes the meaning of each character or
character set contained in a file name. This function allows you to edit any property of the
name. This function allows you to edit any property of the
object and easily maintain your naming convention.
Build: The Build function will assist you to automatically
create a naming convention standard based on a list of file names. It will also help
you verify if a list of file names complies with your existing standards.
Statistics: Delivers quantified results for any Audit or
Analyze process. The statistics apply to standards, Inline and Global rules. It also
highlights all files not matching any rules or standards.
Report: Generates a fully comprehensive HTML report
containing the Standards currently used or found.
Memo: free text containing intelligible file information.
